FPGA design
Nowadays, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) are widely used in the industry
and in general programed by a hardware description language (HDL) such
as Verilog or VHDL.
The advantage of FPGAs in comparison to usual microcontrollers
are their massive parallel capability such that the throughput/performance
of a specific task could be increased.
We offer customer specific solutions implemented in VHDL mainly
for Xilinx FPGAs.
Our main key aspects are:
- image processing and feature extraction in real-time, i.e. implementation of a spot detection algorithm for Shack-Hartmann Wavefront Sensors (SHWFS) in VHDL
- controller implementation with VHDL for large dimensional problems
- PCIe based FPGA design for high throughput applications, such as data acquisition cards
- FPGA based rapid prototyping systems with MATLAB/Simulink code generation and Real-Time Linux as operating system (RTAI)
See some example projects are listed in the references.
